The Goodsheds development comprises the conversion of an existing railway building on Hood Road, Barry, into three ground floor commercial units and eleven apartments. The development will also host a wide range of amenities in the nearby four-storey Container Village, which will open it’s doors in the summer of 2020, providing restaurants, shops, offices and community spaces, along with a top floor coffee bar with views over the town.

 

GreenBuild Consult were appointed to carry out Part L compliance services including SAP & SBEM calculations for both the refurbishment and new build elements of the project. We were pleased to work with the design team to ascertain how the unorthodox container construction could achieve the required new-build fabric standards without compromising the character or practicality of the spaces, and we look forward to working with them again on future projects.
