The Home Quality Mark (HQM) is an independently assessed certification scheme for new homes. It awards certificates with a simple star rating for the standard of a home’s design, construction and sustainability. Developed by BRE, the UK’s leading building science centre, the Home Quality Mark is based on years of building standards experience, and is part of the successful BREEAM family of quality and sustainability standards.

HQM is designed to provide a trusted mark of quality that consumers can trust and housebuilders, developers and housing providers can benefit from. Every home with an HQM certificate meets standards that are significantly higher than minimum standards such as Building Regulations and as such It clearly indicates to householders high standards for running costs, health and wellbeing benefits, and environmental footprint associated with living in the home.
