Daylighting Calculations

hessle_road_02

Daylighting calculations are utilised by designers to ensure that a building receives adequate natural light while also being part of the criteria for Home Quality Mark and BREEAM assessments.

The daylighting assessment will factor in location of the building, overshadowing, view of the sky and the average daylighting factor to provide quantifiable data to aid in the mitigation of low levels of natural light in a dwelling.

GreenBuild can utilise Dynamic Simulation Modelling software to determine daylight factors to aid in the project to reach internal target illuminance levels over the course of the year. This information provided to designers and developers makes up a key part of the environmental picture of a project. GreenBuild can also provide guidance and recommendations to problems and issues as a result of this modelling.
