Working alongside HLM Architects and Architecture 49, GreenBuild consult were appointed to undertake Dynamic Simulation Modelling to enhance the fabric design with the ultimate aim of reducing solar gains and the overall energy consumption of the building.
The fifty storey building in the heart of Bangkok is being developed to a wellness office.
Using IESVE, GBC analysed the impact of both horizontal and vertical shading elements, and their impact on cooling loads.
The process identified the areas on the faced that were most effected by solar gains. This allowed for different shading strategies for each orientation.
The results ensured the building form maximised opportunities for energy reduction whilst not compromising the intended design ethos.
