Working closely with CJ Construction we achieved Code for Sustainable Homes, Level 3, for their recently-completed residential development in Baglan, Port Talbot.
The Code for Sustainable Homes requires an assessment of the performance of new dwellings, during the design stage and once completed.
It measure sustainability against nine categories:
- Energy consumption & CO2 emissions
- Water consumption
- Materials used
- Surface water run-off
- Waste
- Pollution
- Health & wellbeing
- Management
- Ecology
Performance targets are set for each category and the targets are more demanding than those required by building regulations.
